Creative Practice 11/25/2013

I’ve played with finger paint in the past and the color they create has appealed to me. It’s been a medium I’ve been wondering how to use in a project for some time. Having interesting envelopes on hand is something I prefer and I haven’t seen any that move me recently. Why not make them? Why not use finger paint?  It would be a good medium for gift wrap as well.

Hiking on an October day in the higher elevations, a friend and I ran into snow on the trail and strong winds, which is common. The scenery was spectacular though. I’ve found that since I’ve started photographing mountains, this is one of the most photogenic I’ve come across. The shape, the snow, the shadows, the surrounding terrain all lend themselves to creating good photo opportunities. Unfortunately I haven’t had the chance to spend a lot of time in this area.

While hiking on a beautiful late July day, I came upon a meadow carpeted with lavender and bright yellow asters. Several butterflies fluttered from one delicate flower to another.
