This was taken in 2010 at a wetlands area that was heavily damaged in the September flooding. While visiting, I’ve seen bald eagles, great blue herons, goldfinches and one time a medium-sized orange and black bird that I believe was a Bullock’s oriole. This shot is the sun setting behind the Front Range foothills with one of the ponds in the foreground. In the late fall, and in winter with no snow, rather than photograph the drab greys and browns with the blue sky, I prefer making my photos monochromatic using the sepia setting on my camera. Light 10/21/2013
