Permission for a Little...
Hello Wild Creative Hearts!
My 5th Chakra must be in need of some balancing, healing and clearing or you would be hearing more from me! I've been doing a lot of inner listening and the words aren't arising. Though I guess the non-verbal aspect of the 5th Chakra seems to be working.
Here are a few words for you and some artwork too!
After having watched a DVD that mentioned "minimalism" and being inspired, I decided to try a bit of it myself!
Direct from Wikipedia: "Minimalism describes movements in various forms of art and design, especially visual art and music, where the work is stripped down to its most fundamental features. As a specific movement in the arts it is identified with developments in post–World War II Western Art, most strongly with American visual arts in the late 1960s and early 1970s. It is rooted in the reductive aspects of Modernism, and is often interpreted as a reaction against Abstract expressionism and a bridge to Postmodern art practices. "
The DVD said something about minimalist artwork being minimal shapes and color...
(By the way, the DVD was Herb and Dorothy)
Here are my "Minimalism" experiments in my sketchbook: for better or worse!

(Please ignore the splatters and smudge... :)
This may be a bit much to be considered minimalism?

Something definitely refreshing about giving ourselves permission to do just a little!

What is my Passion?
You aren't alone. Have you noticed? There are many people in transition right now. With a transition many times comes questions regarding your passions and wondering about your next steps.
I actually know that "not sure what to do next mode" very well! And yes, you do have passion, in case you were wondering. It's frustrating when it seems to elude us!
There are a few things I can suggest for those who feel like they aren't aware of their passion and perhaps are in transition.
1) Soul Retrieval or other energy work
Recently I wrote to a friend who had inquired about soul retrievals and said she is feeling like she doesn't know what to do next or what her passion is. This is a portion of what I said to her:
The shamanic healer in me suggests this: A soul retrieval journey would be a great benefit if you are feeling called to it. You've just been through a difficult time with your divorce and are now in a place of not knowing what to do next. A soul retrieval can address both of these.
Soul retrievals can be seen as a "boost" in the right direction and a building or strengthening of one's "foundation" to move forward in life. The stronger our foundation, the better and more stable the ensuing creations are in our life.
The soul parts that come back may or may not have to do with your relationship and divorce, but it will be exactly what will be most helpful to you at this time because that is a part of the intention I set for the journey. And most times with a soul retrieval, wisdom is shared with you that is helpful as well, and you are given time to ask questions.
I would recommend a 90-minute session and if we don't fill the entire time, we can set up a follow-up appointment which can be extremely helpful. The 60-minute sessions have felt pretty rushed to me, though please listen to your intuition. Read what others have said about their experience here.
You may or may not have just gone through a divorce. Maybe you just lost your job or your children just left home. Maybe you are just feeling like you could love life a little or a lot more! A soul retrieval assists you in all of these areas. Find out more here.

In addition I would add the following suggestions if you aren't sure what your passion is and aren't sure what to do next:
2) Experiment. Try new things. Are there things you've always wanted to try, but for whatever reason haven't? Is there something that sounds fun that you haven't ever thought of before but may be coming up in your experience now? What are you drawn to? What energizes you? Books to read. Places to go locally and world-wide if that's possible for you. Classes to take. Things to explore.
3) Engage your Higher Self and Spirit
a) Ask the Universe/Spirit to bring you ideas to explore that will delight you and ignite your passion.
b)As I connect with my Higher Self, as I merge Personal Will with Divine Will... ask myself some new questions: What wants to emerge? What kind of life wants to live in me?
As I began to change the reference from "What do I want? What is my passion?" to "What wants to emerge?" somthing shifted within me and made me look at things in a different way. It opened up the possibilities.
4) Remind yourself:
I've had to consistently remind myself that I may not have the answers to the questions right away, but as I keep asking them, soon I will find myself living the answers. This requires patience and surrender.
One other reminder is that the goal and passion isn't off somewhere in the future... life and passion are here right now. How can I feel passion now? Or at least not resist where I'm at right now? How can I enjoy the journey? How can I make things fun and more enjoyable now?
Here's a gift for you:
Be sure to get my new "Creative Possibilities for My Wild Creative Heart" pdf document. It is a list of things I remind myself of and engage in for living a more creative life and for deepening, expanding and cultivating my creativity.
A part of being more creative when we are focusing on our life, or our art (our life is one art form!) is finding our passion, doing what we love and what energizes us. Another aspect is engaging in energy work that appeals to us. A soul retrieval would be an example of this. And yet another aspect is connecting with our Higher Self.
The document lists these and others in a beautiful format, suitable for placing on your wall as a gentle reminder. Request it here. Please know that feedback is welcome!
With Joy,
Lisa
