December Views 27

This has to be one of my favorites of the month.
It has a dreamy, mysterious quality to me.

And I thought I'd show some color too. Pretty pink, swirly clouds.

Just a few days left of December Views!

Happy Solstice and Returning of the Light! (for us in the Northern Hemisphere!)

Were you able to watch the lunar eclipse last night? I was so very fortunate as the forecast was for mostly cloudy conditions but there was only a very slight wisp of clouds at times so I was able to view it. It was quite magical actually because I could lay on the floor and watch the first hour and a half or so through my small skylight in the warmth and comfort of my home! It was *perfection*. Who knew the skylight was perfectly position for this moment in time?

I also ventured out doors to see it once it was glowing red and how beautiful to look up and at the moon with Orion shining brightly right there beside it. I absolutely loved how it looked like an actually sphere. To me it normally looks flat so to see it as a sphere hanging out in space was an incredible feeling to me. It gave a better sense of the depths and magnificence of space and how we really are a small dot in the All.

Many blessings, Lisa ♥

The dusting of snow created gorgeous shadows on the ice. I wondered how to get a photo of this shadow without my shadow and then decided I liked being in the photo. ;)

That's the near-full moon and some clouds reflected in the lake.

I'm really liking the sepia tones in my photographs. I think it may be especially effective this time of year with the dried grasses and leafless trees. And the light has been soooooo very beautiful! So much for the storm that was supposed to bring snow.

This photo is of the seeds of the yellow dock plant (I believe, please correct me if I'm wrong.) The root is very rich in iron and I think I was told the seeds can be used in bread to add nourishment. Though I admit I have never tried it myself.

Was enjoying the warmth, calm winds and sunshine this morning before the storm moves in and was shooting this cattail when I noticed it looked like a head with a face. Fun!
Do you see it?

I added some lines to define it if you don't see it.

This one seems to have some mystery to me...
I love the light in the clouds and the dark trees....
