Wake Up Call

Dear Wild Creative Hearts,

The events in the Gulf of Mexico make we want to shout, "Wake up, people! Wake up, Humanity!" Business as usual is NOT going to get us through this. Let's take this catastrophe and make it what Jean Houston suggests, a "masterpiece of possibility". This is a wake up call for ourselves, our personal and collective lives and our future.

Let's listen to our own inner knowing and discover what our souls are longing to create in our lives and in our world. If you've been standing back and waiting for the right time to make changes in your life, NOW is the time! This is the call to become your best self. To follow your dreams. To honor your desires and honor the worth of who you are and what you have to offer the world. What are you waiting for? What's it going to take?


What would you love to create in your life? You too are highly creative.

It is not just about making art, or writing... though that is maybe what your soul is calling you to do. Your creativity and the creative process are about learning to understand yourself, learning to access and listen to your intuition, learning how to overcome obtacles and learning to access the world of imagery and imagination that not only creates beautiful paintings, but will help you to paint your personal world and our collective world - the big canvases!

What is your soul calling you toward? If you aren't able to take the courageous step for yourself, will you do it for humanity? Will you do it for the children and future generations? For Mother Earth and the animals? For the Oceans, rivers, streams, trees, flowers?

You have in store for you the thrilling adventure of listening to your soul, following the inspired actions and having those very things bring you happiness, joy, abundance and offer nothing but love, healing, harmony, peace, health and vitality to the world! It's a win-win situation! You win, and the collective wins. You win and the children win. You win and the whole of nature wins.

It doesn't have to be sweeping changes, it can be small things that you have been thinking about for awhile or just recently. It isn't the "should's" I'm talking about here. Instead ask yourself, "What sounds fun and exciting? What is emerging from deep within?" Take a class? Begin photography? Pick up litter along the lake or stream? Go camping? Go to the local Botanical Center? Learn how to rock climb? And the larger ones: Move to a new city? Move to the country or wilderness? Transition out of your current job? Have children? Adopt a child? Take a trip to a different continent?

What energizes you? What makes you feel alive?

It's time to Wake Up! Whether it is the very first buds of new growth for you or perhaps you are growing your roots and branches in a deeper, bigger and more powerful way than ever before. What will it take? What are your heart and soul calling you toward? What is the Universe calling you toward? What is wanting to emerge from within you?

Yes, I'm attempting to light a fire underneath you, yet I desire balance, harmony, and groundedness for you as well. I see you moving forward with grace.
